Kalkan – in Antalya province – was an old fishing village and is ideally situated for exploring Turkey’s heritage sites such as Xanthos, Pinara and Tlos. Although the village is now a lively resort it hasn’t lost its charm. The cobbled streets are full of craft and other interesting shops but when you’re all shopped out, fine dining in one of the many rooftop terrace restaurants is hard to beat as one of the evening attractions. And there are lots of other ways to while away the time including drinking local wines at one of the many bars or dining in one of the places serving high quality Turkish food where the locals eat.
